In its 15 years of activity, CIPMO has organized and supported many artistic events, as they are an important element in the development of dialogue.

  • 15th Anniversary of the Center (2004): On December 2nd, 2004, the Center celebrated its 15 years of activity at the Teatro Strehler in Milan. CIPMO has a long time partnership with the Teatro, based on the common will to create a permanent collaboration on cultural aspects, as an instrument to enlarge the support of public opinion for the peace process. The event took place under the occasion of "Canti per la pace", Shir del Essalem, of Moni Ovadia, with Palestinian singer Faisal Taher.
  • Terra di Latte e Miele: In December 2003 the Center engaged in supporting the theatrical performance “Terra di Latte e Miele” by Manuela Dviri, author and correspondent of Corriere della Sera at Tel Aviv, interpreted by Ottavia Piccolo. This performance took place in Milan.
  • Visit of Queen Rania of Jordan: On September 23rd 2002, the Center promoted two important events, in cooperation with MilanMunicipality in the occasion of the official visit of Queen Rania of Jordan. Mayor Gabriele Albertini awarded Queen Rania with the Ambrogino d’Oro, for the role she has been playing in these years in favour of the dialogue among cultures. In addition, a conference took place at the Palazzo Reale, near the Duomo, on titled “Women’s role in the Mediterranean area”. Participants at the conference included: Queen Rania, Mayor Gabriele Albertini, Minister of Public Education Letizia Moratti, Milan Culture Councillor Salvatore Carrubba and Il Corriere della Sera special correspondent Antonio Ferrari.
  • Spring Concert (2002): On May 16th, 2002, a spring concert of traditional Jewish and Islamic music took place. The event was an occasion to promote an inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue. The initiative was implemented by CIPMO in cooperation with Lions Club “Alessandro Manzoni”, in Milan. The concert included an ensemble of Jewish and Islamic music and a conversation among intellectuals, writers and religious representatives and was used to finance a cooperation project in support of the Palestinian childhood centre in Bethlehem and Jerusalem (CIPMO with the Jerusalem Latin Patriarchate). Special guests at the event included Moni Ovadia, author and director; Tahar Ben Jelloun, writer; Don Gianfranco Bottoni, Responsible of the Ecumenical Service and dialogue Arcidiocesi Milan ; Amos Luzzatto, President of the Italian Jewish Communities Union; Gabriele Mandel, Vicarious General for Italy of Sufi Jerrahi-Halveti Brotherhood; Dalil Boubakeur, Rector of the Paris Mosque
  • Israelis and Palestinians - Words and songs: In February 1994, after the signature of the Israeli-Palestinian DOP (Declaration of Principles) in Washington, the Center organised the show "Israelis and Palestinians - Words and songs" which was held at the Piccolo Teatro Studio, at the Theatre of Milan and at the Municipal Theatre of Siena, in collaboration with these municipalities. The event was attended by Israeli and Palestinian personalities and singers and had a great echo in the media. The show was organised together with Lombardy Region and both the Municipality of Milan and MilanProvince, and for the performance in Siena together with the Province of Siena.
